How to uninstall

SHAREit lets you transfer files from different devices such as phones, tablets, and computers. Using a Wifi connection, SHAREit can send files, photos, videos, and apps from one device to another. When it works, it's great, but when it doesn't work, there is no sense in trying again.

The main function of SHAREit is to transfer files between people without having to use the cloud storage. You can share photos, videos, music files, documents, and applications from one device to another. No matter what platform you use, SHAREit only communicates with other users of SHAREit. Does not transfer data to a Wifi connection or Bluetooth. Instead, it creates a wireless connection with up to five devices as if it were a small network. Once connected to another device, the files can be sent and received. You can also clone a device and send its contents to another device. The best part of SHAREit is that it works on many platforms, including Windows PC.

To be usable on multiple platforms, SHAREit has a lot of problems because you have to make a test of connection errors on all devices. As SHAREit does not use a connection over a Wifi network or Bluetooth, you have to create a direct connection with another device. This means that the device creates a port where the rest of the devices it connects to. The application also explains that you have to adjust your security settings for the Wifi. In the settings menu are the options “preferred port” when it sends or receives, but the application never mentioned that the devices will create ports for the sharing of information. SHAREit also has many errors. My first attempts in the transfer of files caused the application to freeze. Both devices had to restart SHAREit for the transfer to work. When SHAREit works, it is very fast. The images are transferred quickly. The videos had a transfer rate irregular, and sometimes seemed to freeze. Once the files are completed, the application disables the wireless connection and reverts back to the original connection. This means that if you want to share another file, you have to perform again the process and connect new mind to the connection port. The main problem with SHAREit is that it defines itself as easy to use, but in reality it is quite difficult to do for the average user.

Easy to use

SHAREit has the potential to be useful, but the lack of instructions and explanations make it frustrating to use. There is also a lack of Polish, and intuition. Closing the connection makes sense, but having to go do the steps again and again each time you want to transfer a file is frustrating. There are other options to transfer files easier. SHAREit is good for videos, but it depends on the size of the file. SHAREit promises ease of use, but has not reached that goal yet. If you want to transfer files, test with Pushbullet.
